Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

Are you a baker? Do you enjoy having something that's sweet and homemade? Or, do you just have a sweet tooth and want something to satisfy that need for something sweet? If you enjoy baking and trying out new recipes or if you're anything like me, and baking isn't really your thing, but your willing to try it as long as you get something out of it then why not try this classic Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe.
This recipe makes about 48 cookies and takes a total of 1 hour to make.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temp.
  • 1 1/4 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (12 ounces)
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 (Fahrenheit). In a medium bowl whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda.
  2. Using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugars on medium-high speed, until fluffy(2-3min). One at a time beat in the eggs, then the vanilla.
  3. Reduce the speed to low and add the flour mixture (DO NOT OVER MIX). Mix in the chocolate chips and nuts (if desired) by hand.
  4. Drop tablespoonful of the dough onto baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake until golden around the edge, but still soft in the middle. When done take them out and let them cool.
Now you can enjoy your very own homemade cookies!
Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature, for up to five days.
