Would you like to know how you can make your own mascara, either because it helps you feel better about the ingredients that it contains, since you're the one making it and you know exactly what you're putting in it. Or do you just want to try to make your own mascara for the same reason I did, because it sounds like it might be fun and interesting to make. Whatever your reason may be I'm here to help you with that by telling you what you'll need and, how to do it step by step. It's very simple to make, the hardest part would be putting the product in the mascara tube.
What you'll need:
- 2 tsp coconut oil
- 4tsp aloe vera gel
- 1/2 -1 tsp grated beeswax
- 1-2 capsules of activated charcoal (for black) or cocoa powder (for brown)
- A clean mascara container
- A syringe
Instructions:
- Put coconut oil, aloe vera gel, beeswax, into a small sauce pan over low heat. Stir until beeswax is completely melted.
- Open 1-2 capsules of activated charcoal (about 1/4-1/2 tsp) and pour into oil mixture. Stir until completely mixed in and then remove from heat.
- Use the syringe to pour the product into the clean mascara tube, and your done.
Now you have your very own homemade mascara.
Remember to always keep the tube tightly closed so that the product doesn't dry out.
